January 14 & 21 2012, 1:00 pmThe 16th annual Viennese Opera Ball promises an evening of glamour, glitter and romance!
And the best part - proceeds from the Ball go to two incredible youth arts and cultural programs in our community: Opera Lyra Ottawa's Opera Studio, a training program for aspiring young opera singers and OrKidstra, a remarkable musical instruction and instrument program for children in our capital city who could not otherwise afford it.
Join us for this spectacular evening featuring the presentation the 2012 Debutantes and Cavaliers in a wonderful demonstration of true Viennese waltzes, a menu blending the best of Austrian and Canadian cuisine, and dancing to live music. A few select items will be auctioned during the Ball including a chance to be Maestro for a Moment and lead the orchestra in Johann Strauss's famous Radetzky March.
All Ball guests have the chance to learn some essential waltz steps courtesy of two complimentary group dance classes offered by Ottawa's award-winning Fred Astaire Studio.
